Conflicting reports whether or not he's indeed passed, but regardless it's very grim either way...

Just so gutted right now.... Was among my all-time faves and his songs truly shaped my life. He will definitely be missed but his music and legacy never forgotten..

Here's one very obscure track he once recorded w/ former Byrds singer Roger Mcguinn..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wr_LtVkCe18" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ironically titled "King of the Hill" in which Tom later portrayed Lucky on......

Sounds like there was a miscommunication between the family and the news outlets. When they were told he was taken off life support, to most people that means they have passed away. But of course technically it doesn't. Whoever spoke to TMZ/CBS really messed up there.

But it was made official about 7 hours ago. 66 years old, completely out of nowhere. I'm stunned. We now only have two Wilburys left. :cry:

Really bummed about this! I loved Tom Petty and saw him in concert once. He put on a great show A true American legend. RIP

Fantastic video of the heartbreakers playing my hometown Oxford (The old Polytechnic or Brooks as it's known now) way in 1980.

Edit: not sure uk Iplayer works overseas. Here's a brief video of the Oxford concert.

R.I.P. Tom Petty.

I remember his (& Travelling Wilbury's) records being jukebox/pub favourites at the time.
