Albums for 2017

Post by KingLouieLouie76 » 29 Sep 2016, 12:47

Never too premature for this....

One I'm really looking forward to Living Colour's long overdue, album "Shade"... It will be a smash based on the songs they just released on their mix-taped compilation...

Gorillaz....perhaps a single in 2016, but full length album early in 2017?

Should really be an intriguing year......

Stone Roses?

At this rate... we may not have Beck's new one till next year :|

MGMT are rumoured to have one out next year, which would be great.

This might be a hint of Living Colour's new album.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rje6va8va_E" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It was included their mix-taped EP titled "Who Shot Ya"..... They are still such an amazing band after nearly 30-years and still very underrated!

It was said to be OCtober 21st, but then everything went quiet and now it is rumoured to have been moved back to November. He's been talking about releasing this album for two and a half years. First it was to be autumn 2014, then early 2015, then we hoped for summer 2015, then everything went quiet till last June when October this year seemed finally set. It seems not :|

living colour? morrissey? beck? stone roses? - anyone under the age of 46????

with their 1st live show in 3 years im lucking fwd to new music from the xx,
hopefully a full length debut proper from day wave,
kissaway trail are surely due a new album ,
as are beach fossils,
would be interested in a 3rd from Naked & Famous, tho their 2nd album was a bit flat (scratch that, just seen that their new album drops in 2 weeks time),
the new rostam-less vampire weekend album is one i am curious to hear,
the drums just finished up their 4th album, looking fwd to that,
expecting los campesinos to return, tho as a result of their last 2 records im very cautious about getting excited for that
and a full album from the strokes, if they ever get round to it

National album would be nice, Franz Ferdinand are working on something, Grizzly Bear, Temples (but I hope they'll release an album in 2016, they dropped latest single a couple days ago), Graham's album would be cool
RIP Mr. Okay (April 2015 - March 2016)

I don't care what age people are. They can be 20, 35, 46, 70, if the music is good, I'm fine with it. My favourite albums for the summer were Radiohead, Paul Simon and Grimes. I'm looking forward to Beck's album as much as I look forward to Temples and Jagwar Ma (which is out next month).

I guess Car Seat Headrest will release another album next year and that's exciting enough for me. Grizzly Bear would also be nice but at this point I don't really have high hopes for their future as a band. I really want the new Gorillaz album to be good but I'm cautious about it, same goes for Weezer. And then I'm expecting great records by Cloud Nothings and Vampire Weekend. Both bands are apparently moving in new directions and that should be exciting.

Someone name "elasiticaman" calling out someone's musical taste based on the age of the musicians is rather hysterical/ironic in itself! haha :D I happen to love Elastica, but of course it's been over 20-years since they did anything entirely worthwhile and "Menace" was decent, but nowhere close to their debut... Anyways, I couldn't resist pointing that out and really all in good nature ribbing sort of way!

I love newer bands, but it seems I'm more inclined to get excited more when the "ancient" bands release newer material. Living Colour and Beck still sound very fresh today and I don't know how Morrisey and especially a Stone Roses reunion album would turn out.....

It is also a strange thing to say on a Blur forum  - maybe why Gorillaz were not included in the list of oldies despite not being exactly spring chickens...

A wind-up, presumably?
If not, did you not realise that the people who are the reason for this website's very existence are over 46? One is even over 50!
And what's this talk of The Strokes?
A band who were last remotely cool or interesting nearly 20 years ago. Wake up, grandpa!
