R.I.P. Prince

Post by AdvertBreak » 21 Apr 2016, 17:19

I have no idea what to say to be honest. I mean, obviously we've had many tragic deaths recently, and each seems like the most unexpected. But wow....Prince! :( May he R.I.P.

Saw him at Earl's Court way back in '92, great night! Still have ticket stub too.

I can't even begin on this. The world has lost another genius talent. 2016 truly sucks. Over and out

I'm not that familiar with his music, but he definitely influenced a lot of great artists and "Purple Rain" is an incredible song... RIP
So many great musicians have already left us in 2016, that's incredibly sad...
RIP Mr. Okay (April 2015 - March 2016)

Was waiting to meet some friends at about 6 tonight so idly looking at Twitter on my phone and saw this. Un-fucking-believably sad. 2016 is going to have a huge list of 'those we lost' at all the awards ceremonies at the end of this year. Rest in peace Prince. To anyone who was a child in the 80s like me, he was one of those pop foundation stones. MJ, Madonna, Prince... those three strode across the planet like colossuses.

This is what I posted on facebook:

Lord...my complete reaction on Prince's death didn't post earlier. No mere words can convey how I feel.....I'm as equally saddened to when Bowie passed...To lose two such institutions within the same year is such a travesty.....Both were so beyond innovative on how they reinvented themselves in such a manner that they always kept their loyal fans and gained newer ones without any compromise. I always wanted to see Prince in concert and how would have thought that what seemed on the surface of a minor illness resulted to this. Just a sad day indeed...will always honor Prince on each and every 4/21. He was immortal and all the wonderful memories of following his outstanding career will always be cherished. He transcended everything and he is another who already fulfilled so much, but had a lot more offer..but he will definitely in spirit..

Can classic & great musicians stop dying?

While I liked his hit singles & a few others, I can't call myself a big fan or anything. However, I have huge respect for him. He was a brilliant musician & songwriter. I think his Superbowl performance was the best performance at a Superbowl halftime show. It was incredible!

What's everyone's favorite Prince song?

While My Guitar Gently Weeps at 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Prince just tears into the solo from 3:25 minutes onwards. Total repect for his musicianship.

Awesome. I think Petty wanted to end the song after a short Prince solo but Prince wasn't having ANY of it. Dhani seemed to love it though, what a performance!!

I'm currently listening to his most recent album 'HITnRUN Phase Two' which is as funky as FUCK. Love it. Rocknroll Love Affair, the second track, is a masterpiece.
