The Pierces - anyone like (or even heard of)?

Post by Neal Zeal » 11 Mar 2016, 23:05

I heard a song by The Pierces the other day on Radio 6 Music.
Was pretty impressed so bought the album that it came from (Creation, I think it's called).
The vibe of the group isn't quite my thing - I find the lyrics quite clichéd and I'm not a big fan of their singing voices.
But there are some cracking melodies so I'm quite enjoying the album. Some of it reminds me a little of the Cocteau Twins.
Think they've been around a while. Anyone else know of them, or like them?

Yep, maybe - bit of a celtic twang.
Or maybe the Cocteau Twins meets Enya?!
Am still enjoying the album. Has 4 or 5 really good songs...

Well I must admit that this album has surpassed all expectations - it's flipping brilliant.
I'm still not hugely impressed by the singing or the words but the melodies, and especially the choruses, are really rather wonderful. So uplifting.
There are 5 or 6 great songs but my favourite is probably 'Believe in Me'.

Most excitingly, their previous album (You and I) which I've yet to hear, got even better reviews...
