I've seen tons of 'this song is satanic and you're going to hell if you like it' but no legitimate criticism.

Man, Lazarus is amazing... It reminds me of something from Lost in the Dream.

Re: David Bowie Thread
I'm late as ever to the party as I've only just got access to the song. I quite like it. It's most likely going to be a grower like the title track had been. But what's all this YouTube comment fuss about? [Genuine question, because I haven't seen the video or had access to the comments].

Re: David Bowie Thread
oh, the blackstar video is fucked up
there's a giant drippy ass candle which i think was molded into the shape of a headless man
and a bejeweled spaceman skull that makes people spontaneously burst into thom yorke dances
living scarecrows gyrating on their sticks, that kind of thing
pretty much designed to fuck with zealots
(lazarus doesn't have a video proper yet, but the listening post has an eye so people are saying it's illuminati and shit)

I'm going to resist. One more week, and then my first listen can be with a copy of the record in my hands.

What a great album. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's ground-breaking or anything but it's definitely weird enough to be called experimental at times. And oh my god Lazarus, I can't believe a sixty-something year old guy wrote that.

Re: David Bowie Thread
Haunting. I love it! Can't wait for the album to drop tonight.
I have to admit that I listened to the leak a few days ago but the quality wasn't great, sounds like someone recorded it on a phone maybe. Really quiet compared to how it'll be on CD etc. But my overall impression is that it's a STUNNING album. 'Tis A Pity She Was A Whore maybe my favourite track. Can't wait to hear it in all it's glory tonight!

Re: David Bowie Thread
He just does it again....I don't think he can become further innovative (especially on his presentation of music) and he proves me wrong..Just so provocative this genius is! AMAZING!

What a great record! I prefer the new versions of Whore and Sue. Girl Loves Me was really good. Electronics on I Can't Give Everything Away are very welcome. First listen, very nice.
