There are many albums that are on the cusp, maybe 9s or 9 and a halfs (some by artists I adore), but not quite 10s imo, and these includes revered bands like The Smiths and Radiohead or albums like The Joshua Tree and Nevermind, to name some classics :)

Interesting choices Miki.
I don't like Sufjan Stevens voice but the music on Illinois is so good that it doesn't really matter.
Is that the same on those other two albums of his that you listed?

I haven't heard Michigan, but on Carrie and Lowell, the music is very minimal and it relies on his vocals a lot more. It's a beautiful record though, definitely give it a try.
