Massive longtime fan of these guys...and wanted to start this thread because they're back for some new shows this autumn! Only in the UK, of course, but this is fantastic news.

Who else is a fan of these guys?

I just came here to share the news too. I'm excited!

I've grown to love the 'tones so much I've inflicted them onto my children.

I never saw them first time round, and had always regretted having missed the boat. I've seen Morriss solo acoustic a few times, and amped-up with Devlin / Eds plugging his solo albums. So yeah, I'll definitely be going. Brum or London, it'll be the best part of 100 miles to one or the other.

Arguably my favourite tune from the 90s.

Haha I think there was me and one or two other 'tones fans kicking around on the old Blur forum...not sure if it's just you and me here though. Probably 8-)

definately used to be, mainly the album Return to the last chance saloon, an underated classic, and the debut too, had all their singles on cd, cassette, vinyl EVERYTHING. then they went and released that neat rough outline compilation with all the bsides in 1 place and my collection felt somewhat pointless!!
must have seen them 10 times back in the day always a great live show, i think my siblings are off to see them on this tour

Foggy - 'Cut Some Rug' one of the forgotten gems of that period of the 90s. :D

Saw them live at Westcliff-on-Sea, Cliffs Pavilion, on the Sunday that 'Marblehead Johnson' entered the charts.

An apt song there for anyone who had a day off today.

What a band!? Adam Devlin should be a household name.

I honestly never got completely into them....What album of theirs does anyone suggest that I check out first? Thanks!

Definitely their first album Expecting To Fly...it rocks but in a classy way. The self titled album is really good, but more modern sounding.

I'd agree, Expecting to Fly is fantastic. My personal favorite is Return to the Last Chance Saloon, but they honestly never made a bad album.

Listening to '4 Day Weekend' posted by Foggy above, I am reminded of the old saying that 'The Bluetones are The Charlatans without the organ....' ;)

But I still like them.

As big a Charlatans fan I am (and I've been one for a long time), I think the Bluetones are 10x better, but that's just my opinion.
