What's your favourite musical instrument?

Post by JAIME » 01 Apr 2015, 20:02

In my case, I love the sound of the bass, and I love to play it during the weekends.

I play electric guitar and acoustic guitar too, but I don't dedicate too much time to guitars.

I have also a melodica (but I can't remember when was the last time that I played it  ).

Uilleann pipes are brilliant  (honestly they are, but I've gone for electric guitar)

Listening to them.

I must admit that I love the sound of the Galician pipes and the Scottish pipes too. :P

I agree, but then I love Celtic music in general.

The only time I've been able to play something meaningful on any instrument was the solo of Out of Time on acoustic many years ago. And even then barely managed to scrape through it like a noob.

I too do have a very soft spot for bass, though. I should have bought one long ago, when I had the money and time to dedicate myself.

The banjo, the mandolin, the ukelele and the glokenspiel.

(I just about manage to strum an acoustic guitar)

Genius.

I voted for electric guitar, because I play it pretty well, but whatever floats your boat.

Not my fave instrument, but I like the sound of the "trompe" (southern Chilean instrument, from the Mapuche people):

As expected for a Blur-themed forum, most of the answers were electric guitar and acoustic guitar, which is okay with me, though my personal favorite would definitely be the bass guitar.
