Songs that could have been Blur's

Post by Miki » 30 Mar 2015, 12:44

Ever heard a song and thought "Oh, that could have been a Blur song!".

I thought that when listening to these two songs by Beck.

The first one makes me think of Blur's early B-sides https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YNkzaWm7UU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The second is especially Blur-esque in the ending https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-NcL7C4J2E" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Other songs that remind you of Blur?

this song - though it sounds more of a Damon song than a Blur song

It's quite obvious the influence that Beck has had on Damon Albarn's work, especially with early Gorillaz music.

Spacehog's In the Meantime reminds me of Chemical World a bit - especially the riff in the chorus. Just with Bowie singing over it :)

Bellyeye and Manhoo by Cardiacs both have a very Blur-esque vibe

"I would die for Beck, and I'd pay any money for any old crap he put out," says Coxon, who has put Beck's most traditional album, Mutations, on the table. "So it's good that he doesn't put out any old crap. I've played all his albums to death, but I like this and One Foot in the Grave the most. If I had written tracks like Dead Melodies and We Live Again, I could die happy. I would live on a farm and rear sheep."

I think that picture was taken here in Santiago, in November 2013. I could be wrong though.

Oh ok, thank you Miki! :P

P.S. The blue seats and the carpet are quiet similar to Santiago airport.
