They're pretty good. III is a great example of diverse rock (three songwriters, two fidelities).

Yeah, Eric Gaffney was an excellent collaborator for Lou, but it definitely all changed the moment Jason joined. He injected a different dynamic in the band which was initially lacking and took them up several notches. Bob Fay and Russ Pollard were both solid drummers...I love "III"....."Harmacy" and "Bakesale" both consisted of several wonderful moments... "the Sebadoh"...they tried to probably expand their audience w/that album, but they didn't quite breakthrough like they had intended, but to me they're at their collective best when they're very low-fi!

I must admit I haven't listened much to "Defend Yourself" to gain any opinion of D'Amico yet.... I will finally check it out over the weekend....
