Comes very close to the original in terms of quality.

It was a workmanlike cover of 'Hey Bulldog'.

A better interpretation of a Beatles song was Joe Cocker 'With A Little Help From My Friends':

The most impressive Beatles cover must be: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Hs7AHBZ9W0

Not only did they improve on the original (which is usually difficult with The Beatles), but they actually managed to make one of those rare Fab 4 shit songs really really good.

Speaking of Sonic Youth

Probably their most well known cover song because of a little movie called 'Juno'.

Joe Cocker's version was my Class Song when I graduated high school (in '95 due to the song being the American tv show, "Wonder Years" theme a few years earlier)..

Here's another Gomez Beatles remake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VKDfWJsjnA

Great to have that as your Class Song, KLL 8-)

We had no such thing where I went to school. But if we did, that is the sort of song I would have chosen.

I've always enjoyed this version of my favorite Beatles tune : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8K0yLAtzCY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As for Pixies this is the best cover of one of their tunes in my opinion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1k6dD3WAP0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Me too. Kula Shaker weren't great but I enjoyed a few songs by them.

Two of my favourites - Beck and Ryan Adams - are covers masters. Beck has done so many successful covers that it would take a thread just for him :lol:

Here's one from his Record Club project - where he would gather musicians to record a classic album in one day. He did Velvet Underground, Leonard Cohen, Skip Spence, INXS, and Yanni. Here's one of my favourites from the Velvet Underground https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XepyhNKnhGk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here's Ryan Adams covering Iron Maiden https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iBe53ruE1g" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And here's one of my favourite covers of a Beck's song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_Nhuh_hw9s" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'll post more. As I said, Beck is a goldmine for covers!
