Lack of production can be amazing sometimes.

Indeed. I think it works in their favour.

The Mission

One of the best Gothic rock bands of the 80s, right there next to The Cure, Sisters of Mercy and Cult (and Siouxsie and the Banshees if they count).

Girlschool

A fine metal band and Kelly Johnson was a great metal guitarist

Syd Arthur...... I fell in love w/them at Hyde Park BST June 18th concert (which featured Beck and the Strokes)..... They have such a distinct sound and should become headliners themselves someday!

Re: Tears for Fears

Songs from the Big Chair is indeed a good record! The Hurting has the edge for me though. Mad World and Shout from those albums are old favourites of mine.

I've brought them up a few times (especially on this thread)..

"The Hurting" was the best.... Not just "Mad World"... but "Change" and "Pale Shelter" are both just sublime (along w/the rest of the album)..... Their post "Songs from the Big Chair" wasn't the best, especially during the time Curt Smith left... Since his return, him and Roland only have recorded one new album together, 2004's "Everybody Loves A Happy Ending" which is just relatively decent, but not to the heights they achieved before.

The Seahorses - Do It Yourself. Nothing revolutionary, but a great album with excellent guitar and bass.

Anyone else agree that Jet is vastly underrated? I know they haven't done much in recent years, but "Get Born" is one of the best albums to be released in the past 15-years!

^Yes. I've stumbled upon "Katy Song" some years ago, and it was really great. The whole Rollercoaster album is nice

I wasn't sure what the album was going to be like and I wasn't sure at first, but I soon grew to like it a lot.
