I just love Elvis Costello and the Attractions and this isn't even my fave song by them, but of course it's always been VERY infectious!
Magnificent song

Yeah...I went on a MAJOR Elvis Costello and the Attractions kick a couple of weeks ago....Still will hope that one day that him and Bruce can finally settle their long-standing feud/differences and for all four of them to properly reunite again, but unfortunately that will never happen which is really agonizing in itself....

Louie - the riff on The Smithereens song reminds me of the B-52s 'Roam' :)

I've never thought of that until upon reading this post.....But lord...the Smithereens were a heavy influence on Kurt Cobain (really impacted him while Nirvana recorded "Nevermind")....

Unfortunately, Grunge destroyed the Smithereens at the time, but thankfully they've managed to endure.... You should check out their 1994 "Date with the Smithereens" where "Miles from Nowhere" came from..... It's not their best album, but very solid... 1989's "11" was them at their best...... A workingman's type band that has lasted the test of time......

I've never bought any of their work - but I remember their version of Ringo's 'It Don't Come Easy' (1994 I think).

I suspect it was released as a single in the UK - it got some airplay.

Smithereens, similar to the Cheap Trick have recorded a few Beatles tribute albums/singles........ I believe I once had a Smithereens related thread somewhere, so don't want to veer way too off topic from this thread...

Currently, this song is stuck in my head! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvlTJrNJ5lA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

She's so overrated in my opinion.

I have that Justin Tiberlake "Dance Dance Dance" (or whatever it's called) song stuck in my head and I'm not liking it. Sometimes I wish my work didn't have a radio station as 95% of the music on it's playlist is pure shit.
