I really hope for them this is not the case!! :lol:
But for me it's a very predictable song, nothing new under the sun, and also not agreeable at all, but it's only my opinion! ;)

I say this as a huge fan, one that thinks Liberty is terribly underrated, one that doesn't get the hatred songs like "Hothead" or anything on Red Carpet Massacre get, someone who'll have Warren back in the band any day because his contributions made Duran Duran survive throughout the 90's: the new song's a disgrace, and the artwork for the new album's worse. I really hope that the rest of the album's several notches better.

I thought the same about the artwork. Pretty poor. I didn't hate the song, but I didn't love it either. Kind of forgot it the minute it ended, but I wouldn't change channel if it played on the radio, let's put it that way.

Album out in September.

Oh lord...this is horrid! They've essentially reverted back to the all-time lows of "Medazzaland" and "Pop Trash"....I wish Andy Taylor would reconcile his differences w/the other four because they need him to hold them in check again. "Astronaut" was such a stellar effort and proves how solid they are when he's involved, but they haven't reached that depth since and soon will be irrelevant again!

I think it's much worse than anything on Pop Trash, which was always their low for me. At least them they weren't beating you over the head with their past successes, while jumping a few bandwagons to try to ensure they have a hit. As I said, i hope it's a complete red herring.

Let's certainly hope that "Pressure Off" isn't the sign of things to come or it's finally about time they disband or just tour their oldies and goodies!

I like that a lot better.

I'm so hesitant to check it out.....They need Andy back in the fold to really balance everything out...Heck..I'd even settle for Warren at this point!

Nick and Simon need a (pain-in-the-ass) guitar player. Not sure John and Roger are even on Paper Gods. Anyhow, as a fan who's bought every album since Big Thing on release I can safely say: they have outdone themselves. It's an album far far worse than their previous nadir, Pop Trash (which is in the same league as Rio in comparison). I have no idea where the positive reviews come from. It's the first Duran Duran album I'll not purchase.

That's a real shame. I saw where it was getting positive reviews, but I always want to hear what the hardcore fans have to say. I won't be giving Paper Gods any sort of attention.

You can always give it a go, you might like it. My taste for Duran is sometimes out of sync with hardcore fans anyway: I have a higher than average appreciation of Liberty for example.

Hardcore fans like their bands for various reasons, and the bands can't please all of them. You'll like their next album in 2020! :lol:

The album is doing really well, though.

Simon is happy http://www.duranduran.com/wordpress/201 ... m-simon-3/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've yet to hear it.
