The "I Make Music" thread

Do any of you make music?

I do. I've recorded 10 albums in my bedroom since October. They can be found here: http://bloomshock.bandcamp.com

Great thread. :)

I play with my blues band (videos in media section) and have released a few Live EP's. Working on an originals release at the moment though, a few actually. Acoustic and electric.

I'm working on a new song. Really like the way this beat is going.

I make a new album about once every month, month and a half at this point. Here's my most recent one:

I fucking hated making this, what with all the guilt of writing about my true feelings for a friend I had only just come back into contact with. And yet, I loved making this. I haven't vented this much in a long time.

I make either very bouncy springy music (almost like game music) in my spare time, or slow soothing stuff like this: https://soundcloud.com/birminghamfox/the-great-lake

Just dropped a new single. Hopeful, optimistic, futuristic.

https://theangulars.bandcamp.com/album/workweek-ep

I've been neglecting recording for a long time so when I got this week off from work I decided I'd do a track every day.
This is what resulted. Some of it is pretty cool. Track 3 is way too loose for my taste but you know time constraints and such.

I made an album again. It's 27 minutes long, and it's a bit shoegazey (been listening to a lot of MBV).

Highlights include: "Valentine", "Glimmer", "Best Left Unsaid"

I used to make avant-garde crap. Well, it's 'avant-garde' to hide the fact it knew it was awful.

I DJ mix with my mate - not performances just CD-Rs and online. He likes lots of modern stuff I can't stand whereas I compiled a 'Back to Mine' which he thinks is too varied to be consistent. So yeah, it works well.

About a year ago I contemplated an entire album made of 159 samples, manipulated in all sorts of ways, and no I can't make it but I (rather sadly) came up with almost all the parts in my head and wrote them down in case I do attempt something close to it one day. About 140 songs, a few ident jingles and samples of The Comic Strip Presents quotes.

This reminds me...I just made a "best of Astrosmash" collection. 26 songs spanning 10 years. Includes covers of Blur and Rialto and Duran Duran. Free download: http://bit.ly/astr000

I've never really known how to play any instruments apart from drums but with the power of a laptop keyboard I made music.

I've been making "music" for years and years. I put the " because I've never considered it music. Either way, occasionally I'm proud of what I've done and most of the songs I've made have come straight from the heart. :x

If you feel like you want to be sick, go ahead and give it a listen :) There might be SOMETHING in there you like, who knows

80% of the songs I just played on the laptop keyboard. Others I clicked random notes or used loops
