Re: Blur to appear on Later With Jools Holland on April 14th

You guys reckon Ghost Ship and Ice Cream Man are too much to hope for? :P That would be the most prudent thing to do, considering the technical difficulties they had at Mode. The world is still waiting to hear those songs properly. I really hope they don't play either of these two..! I still have N...

Re: Favorite tracks: 13

You know, Optigan 1 might just be my favorite Blur album closer. I'm glad they made it a track per se and not an outro to NDLTR, considering 13 is full of those. I can clearly remember Optigan 1 causing me to fall asleep on my bedroom floor. I find it interesting that it was recorded in Barcelona i...

Re: Favorite tracks: 13

Ah, my favourite Blur album and possibly my favourite album of all time.

Impossible to choose but if you put a gun to my head:

Trimm Trabb
Battle
Trailerpark
NDLTR
Bugman

Re: Favorite tracks: The Great Escape

I listened to the album in full today in the car for the first time in AGES and it's really not as bad as I remember. It's just let down by the often bizarre and cringeworthy quirks in some of the songs, case in point being Topman - the "OHH'S" and the "OPEN SESAME!" which are totally weird and unn...

Re: Favorite tracks: The Great Escape

I really like Entertain Me but I've always thought that it's incredibly lazy songwriting as it uses pretty much the exact same formula as Girls & Boys.

It's basically the non identical, slightly more sensible twin of Girls & Boys.

Re: Tips on how to distract your mind for another month

I'm just listening to previous Blur things until the album is released. I have now fully familiarised myself with and totally love all the songs played at the secret gig and just know I will listen to them to death before the 27th if I carry on so have banned myself until the album comes out. I am a...

Re: Oh Damon

I like the way we fans are split on this issue! And i'm perfectly comfortable with my opinion. Even now, 6 years on, I still never get tired of seeing photos of the four of them together just the same as back then I could never feel comfortable with photos of them as a three piece.. The relief I fel...

Re: Oh Damon

As I said, to me, it's only a Blur album by name. This notion started as a self defence mechanism enabling me to actually bring myself to listen to, and love the album back when I was absolutely distraught at the departure of Graham. Rightly or wrongly I will always see it as not quite a Blur album.

Re: Oh Damon

So what, Think Tank isn't a real Blur album because Graham isn't on it? Well by that logic Sticky Fingers and Exile On Main Street aren't real Rolling Stones albums because Brian Jones isn't on them. Ridiculous!! Think Tank is 100% a Blur album. Now, I understand Damon's point of view because it ob...

Yeah even in his book Alex says it's the best thing they've ever done..!
