Re: The Universal
The Glasto 98 version is my all time favourite. There's just something about it, the fact that retrospectively it kind of feels like the last performance of a fully functioning band before things started to unravel. And nothing has come close to the way he sings the final lines before or since. http...

Re: GORILLAZ: The Now Now Album Thread
I'm most excited about Idaho - the loveliest sounding thing i've heard in ages.
That was another reason I hated Humanz as it was totally missing any of the moving, more emotional songs. Like To Binge and Cloud of Unknowing etc.

Re: Music is my radar
I remember hearing the first play of it on the radio and enjoying it but at the same time feeling a bit annoyed at what I thought was just lazy scat singing by Damon. I'd got the idea in my head at the time that Damon couldn't be bothered to write a 'proper' song anymore and couldn't really be bothe...

When do you think it gets too late for Blur to do something again? Personally I think they will do something again, obviously not for at least the next 2-3 years but there will come a point when they are too old. Just not sure when that'll be. I suppose they could just stop playing some of the more ...

Re: GORILLAZ: Tour Thread
Apart from the fact I didn't enjoy pretty much any of the music on Humanz, the main thing it was lacking for me was that quieter, melancholy, melodic side that is peppered over all the other albums. I totally agree that the studio version of this song could be mindblowing and am genuinely excited to...

This sounds absolutely beautiful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... 40h6bDnOpM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If the new album has a few more songs like this then i'm going to love it 100% more than the last one.

Re: Alt-Blur
"Ambulance" would sound so epic if they played it live with Graham, I'd like to believe... Maybe in 2030 or something tour it will be brought back like "Caravan" I was hoping "Ambulance" would have been considered before... Even "WGAFOY"...... Maybe also "OTWTTC"..... Am I the only one that loves "...
Re: Alt-Blur
I'll never really see TT as a Blur album but I still love it for the most part. I've been listening to it a lot lately and i''m even starting to like Gene by Gene which up until now i'd only listened to literally about 3 and a half times since 2003. I have been considering editing my own version of ...

Now that nearly everything else is available, I think that might now be my Blur holy grail..
That or the original melancholy version of Country House or calypso Universal.

Re: Worst live performance
I remember when I finally heard the recording of that supposedly worst of all time, Town & Country club gig in 1992 and thought it really didn't sound all that bad at all.
Re: Alt-Blur
At the time I thought Blur did almost become Gorillaz with TT.. Give or take a few songs, a large portion of the material on that album wouldn't be out of place on a Gorillaz album.

Re: Thoughts on the self titled album
I can't listen to the album version of Beetlebum anymore as the live versions are so much better and I can't listen to Song 2 cos i've heard it 10000000 times too many.. Apart from that I don't tend to skip many songs. Movin' On I find a bit tiresome sometimes and for some reason I tend to enjoy the...
