Re: The Beatles Thread

I remember Oobu Joobu and also the Lost Lennon Tapes radio show. You can get both of those on massive bootleg sets...some interesting stuff in there, for sure!

Re: The Beatles Thread

Well, they found more tapes after Mark did the book and also I think he misinterpreted some of the stuff on the tapes (which he has acknowledged). He said recently the reason he won't do an updated edition/revision to the book is that all of the information is now on the internet, so why bother?

Re: The Beatles Thread

I believe Paul's "Suicide" was also debuted during the Let It Be sessions, although obviously that came to nothing and just ending up being attached to a song on McCartney. Still, I love hearing those solo album songs played during a Beatles session! "All Things Must Pass" was another, of course. W...

Re: OFFICIAL STAR WARS THREAD

I ended up not going to Solo...kept meaning to when it was in theatres but never got the chance (and honestly didn't try too hard). Have heard nothing but bad things about it and with the awful memories of the horrifically bad Episode VIII still in my head, I'm kind of off Star Wars right now. Well ...

Re: The Beatles Thread

Sorry, meant to answer you earlier. Pretty sure that's not legit, it's been discussed in the past. Don't even think it's the Beatles, honestly. No need to apologize..... I wish I still had my copy of Mark Lewisohn's Complete Recording Sessions. I have't read/had it in over 25+ years and that served...

Re: The Beatles Thread

I'd be extremely happy with a shed load of Abbey Road outtakes next year. Same. Especially because it would be almost all completely new and unexpected. This is all I've got on boot from those sessions: Octopus' Garden (take 32) Golden Slumbers (take 13) Carry That Weight (take 13) You Never Give M...

Re: The Beatles Thread

Has anyone of you ever cut/pasted Her Majesty into its normal/original place in the medley? It was supposed to be after Mean Mr. Mustard (hence the opening chord of Her Majesty , which is in fact the ending of Mustard ) and before Polythene Pam (hence the brutal stop at the end of Her Majesty which...

Re: The Beatles Thread

I'm kinda bummed. I wanted to get the Wings 71-73 box set when I got the Wildlife and Red Rose Speedway sets, but the only place I can find it is on Paul's website for $400. Now, at first I thought that was mad expensive, but then I realized that you got both Wildlife and RRS with it so I thought I...

Re: The Beatles Thread

Sixth Beatle? That’s a stretch. A great producer don’t get me wrong but all the work was done by the band and George Martin. Anyone can remix a track. Talking about a sixth Beatle is interesting though. If I had to go for someone I’d go with Billy Preston. His contributions during the Get Back sess...

Re: The Beatles Thread

MrMagpie..... I definitely agree with your review! "Esher" was always among the "Holy Grail" and here it in its entirety in such wonderful quality indeed makes that package alone all worthwhile! I just wonder what else could have been included. I wish they had all the "Back in the USSR" takes becau...
