Re: Gig: New York City, 23 Oct

It was at Spin, Susan Sarandon's ping pong place. I was on the band's guestlist and had the wristband but it was pretty loose and I noticed more fans slipping in after a couple of hours. I looked for you, Sushi, at the Blur Superfan meetup - kept asking everyone if they were you. :( Noooooooooooooo...

Re: Gig: New York City, 23 Oct

I was up in the stands as well; though I would have loved to be on the floor the full stadium was a magnificent sight. Madison Square Garden is quite a place too! Anyway, there are so many things I could say but I'll keep it short: it was a f*cking blast. The band were in a great mood (Graham rolled...

Re: BLUR DOCUMENTARY: New World Towers

I'm not complaining, per se. I mean, I will happily watch this and probably really enjoy it. I'm just pointing out how very unnecessary it is. Of course I agree we are very spoiled and very lucky fans so blah blahdy boo, here's my debit card.

Re: BLUR DOCUMENTARY: New World Towers

Honestly... It looks like a fun watch but this strikes me as a classic money grab. The description makes it sound like footage of two shows (Hyde park and Hong Kong) with some background story of TMW dispersed through out. But at this point there's nothing we don't know about the album, and despite ...

Blur wins GQ's Band of the Year Award

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyB8imJZ_WQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ^ Elton John presenting the award and calling Graham Coxon one of the best living guitarists literally made me tear up. Nice fat kiss on the lips from Damon, followed by a somewhat drunken speech. XD We should...

Re: The Magic Whip: 4 Months On

^I'm with you guys...I LOVE the album but for me it's middle of the pack when ranked against every other Blur album. That's more a testament to how stunning the rest of their albums are than a knock on the Magic Whip. Apart from two clunkers on the album (and even those I can tolerate easily), it's...

Re: Alex James appreciation

I have been listening to The Magic Whip non stop this week and have actually been thinking this very thing! I couldn't agree more. He's one of the best bass players of all time. All of his basslines are basically hooks and there are so many songs that just wouldn't be without Alex. No Girls and Boys...

Re: Places you've heard a Blur song 2.0

I worked at a coffee house for a couple of years and flooded the itunes catalog with Damon's entire discogragpy. So if you're ever in the Mudhouse in Crozet, Virginia, you're bound to hear some Blur. I frequent the place and hear at least one Blur song every time. Yesterday I went in, and as soon as...

Re: Blur interview in The Guardian (Kanye West etc.)

-That's not even Graham's part from Tender. XD -It's ironic that the writer says Dave was "suspicious" and cautious of things like "Dave from Blur says...". -The article as a whole is a strange one. Damon believes in fairies, Alex is skiddish, Dave is suspicious, and Graham is a middle aged white ma...
