Re: general blur thread

Blur at their best on that performance I reckon Yes, thanks for the link. Saw footage of the 96 US tour where it was performed, too. Quite funny that they took this one guitar for one solo song over the ocean. The Jaguar was also played at the "Eine Kleine Lift Musik" video. As for the tuning, I re...

Re: Best live shows ev's?

In the first edition of Black Book, it's written that Trimm Trabb was played after Mellow Song and that it was very agressive.

Re: general blur thread

Interesting information. I think he used the Musicmaster for a solo live performance: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/53/185398462_0dc3618e91.jpg Another mystery case is the Jaguar, which was used live for Lot 105, but obviously nowhere else. https://i.pinimg.com/236x/20/35/40/20354064bdbcee6945fef5e...

Re: general blur thread

I noticed that Graham changed his guitars for single songs over the years. Like Oily Water (Les Paul around 96, Gibson SG around 97) or Parklife (yellow Telecaster around 1994, black Telecaster around 2015). But he use guitars like the Gibson ES-355 for This Is A Low since over 20 years. Is it conne...

Re: Best live shows ev's?

Viva Overdrive was a radio/TV show on the popular music channel Viva. So Trimm Trabb was maybe cut out of a later broadcasting or they made space for adverts.

Re: random question

Cross Cannel Love is a song which is a bit like reggae/ska . And there is this jam from the 1999 John Peel session: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoCGoTOc-pg

Re: Blur's setlists going forward

It would be cool to hear some early b-sides stuff like Inertia or Explain. Coping and Bank Holiday would be also nice. And for the intro, an instrumental like Lot 105 or Theme from Retro, like they did on the 2013 tour.

Re: Thoughts on the MLIR Daisy Bell and The Strand covers?

Yeah, I can definitely see what you mean. In the chorus for Daisy Bell, I can imagine a pub full of people singing along and knocking down pints together. I'll check out those live performances though, sounds interesting. There are two good live versions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH67vj4hChU...

Re: Thoughts on the MLIR Daisy Bell and The Strand covers?

They are realy like a drunken fun song, more like an outtake. Daisy Bell always reminds me of the Oasis cover of Slade's "Cum On Feel the Noize". But the live versions, which were played around 1993, are very enjoyable because this song is live very punk like.

Re: Graham Coxon Quote: where did he say this?

I think he said that in an interview about his youth. He lived in Germany in Berlin and also in Rinteln and Münster when he was a child.

Well, the German Rolling Stone said that the group try to bring all guests of this album together for their set at the Demon Dayz Festival. So it maybe could happen.

Re: Humanz - post reviews and radio airplay info here

The radio in Germany do not play the new tunes. Interesting is that they realytry to promote the album here. They had a sound instalation in Berlin a few days back called "Sonos und Gorillaz Spirit House Experience" were you could listen to the album and sit in the band's living room: http://www.mon...
