Re: general blur thread

Ah, cool. So I guess you went to the gig at the Wiltern? Was it a good show? I wonder if they travelled by train or plane, because I heard that they tried to avoid the stress of the 92 tour and so they prefered the plane on later tours.

Re: general blur thread

Interesting points. Did they enjoyed a lot of airplay on stations like KROQ or local stations? They must be a good group of fans, because the spring tour in 1996 was sold out. Where this gigs well supported by press?

Re: general blur thread

It is often written that Look Inside America is about touring in the USA (By the way: One of the best bits from the self titled album). But is it more from the 1992 tour or from the later, short tour legs in 1995/1996? Both could be possible.

Re: R.I.P. Mark E Smith

Yes, that's sad, I always hoped to see him live in the future. I discovered Smith and The Fall some times ago through Pavement. The Frenz Experiment and Perverted by Language are great albums.

Just to renew this thread, does anybody got a copy/downoad link for it now? Or the Tempe Temper! bootleg? This show seems to be very interesting, they played Slow Down.

Re: Blur Picture Thread

Graham wore this blue jacket, it seems to be the same from the Charmless Man video. There are also some photos from circa 1995/96, so I guess the set is from this time. :D https://78.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ksct45ZVbJ1qa02uno1_500.jpg https://78.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_kw7g1xIt1K1qzqkk9o1_1280.jpg

Re: Blur Picture Thread

The pictures are very cool. But I think the photos by Olaf Heine must be from spring 1996. He is a very famous photographer from Hannover, Germany and he had propably a session with Blur just before the gig at the town on 18th March 1996.

Re: general blur thread

I don't know if this was ever the object of a discussion, but dit The Jesus and Mary Chain influence Blur? They toured together etc., but was it ever mentioned or audible?

By the way, the sound of Far Gone And Out always reminds me a little bit of Bang: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7v4AAd00dSQ

From their Jools Holland appearance from late 1994. The audio of Bank Holiday was online for a while, but I never saw the video.

Req: 40 Principales & Cosmo Pops Best 10

I've been looking for two radio sessions from around 1996/97. The first one is the 40 Principales session from 12th July 1996, where they played this acoustic tunes: Stereotypes, Charmless Man, Badhead, Beetlebum and To The End. The other session is a recording of Country Sad Ballad Man from the Cos...

Well, this shirt seems to be very popular. The Blur shop could sell it very well, if they would have the idea to re-produce them :D

Re: Blur Video Thread

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Od9mU5sfdfY Interview from the 97 US tour. There is just a lack of video material from this tour (beside the Letterman appearance and some snippets from the Tibetan Freedom Concert and the Ozone). Never saw any real material from the 94/95 US tours, maybe because the...
