Re: Squeeze Thread

As for Squeeze influencing Blur, I wondered if it was more the other way round by the mid 90s. This, for instance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rY5506sboQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Glenn had even bought himself a yellow Tele. You may disagree, but he sounds a bit Conxonesque ...

Re: Squeeze Thread

I know the greatest hits, but that's about it, so I've decided to start at the beginning, so I'm playing their album on Spotify. It's less slick than I expected, but it's a bit of an eye opener. They were great from the off. Surely on Blur's list of influences? https://open.spotify.com/track/5Bk4pGG...

Re: Forum improvements?

I like that idea. I hadn't heard about the GC forum! That's sad news :( They've setup a new site now. If anyone wants to talk Graham, or anything else for that matter, they can find it here: http://www.grahamcoxon.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; At the time of writing it's got a...

Re: Forum improvements?

It was shut without warning, but it was less busy than the old Blur forum, and there had been murmerings that 'management' couldn't really see the point of it. It's their call and it's fair enough really, there were only a handful of active users, and they'd support Graham's solo antics whether ther...

Re: Forum improvements?

Hello.

Warner have pulled the plug on Graham's forum. It is no more, it's joined the choir invisible etc. Might it be an idea to shoe-horn in a Grahamcentric sub-board here? If it's as quiet as Graham's was it might not be worth it?

Just a suggestion.

Re: The Bluetones Thread

Fact is, Devlin is a hell of a guitarist I didn't realise how funny he was. I know it's a thread about music, but you've got to respect a man with the wit to write this review of Kula Shaker's tea towel. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kula-Shaker-Cotton-Art247-46x70cm/dp/B007M8H23G" onclick="window.open(...

Re: country house

I've always thought there's a sliver of genius in its composition. At the end, the juxtaposition of that bouncy cheery chorus being laid over the "blow blow me out I am so sad I don't know why" vocal. Really clever, that. I sort of get why people don't like it. It's the same with Fountains of Wayne ...

Re: EU Referendum

Don't worry, I know you didn't see Farage stood in front of that reluctant exodus of migrants fleeing for their lives and think "that's my man." There were several compelling and reasoned arguments which could influence a leave vote, but by going that way you can't help but align yourself with every...

Re: EU Referendum

You can't be suggesting that everyone who voted leave is an ignorant, xenophobic racist...? Not everyone, but there's a definite correlation between voting leave and being a bit thick. Look at my local polling stats: Cambridge, full of universities and science parks, 75% in 25% out. Fenland, full o...

Yes, pretty much. I now feel like part of an intellectually superior minority. It's like being a Blur fan whilst Oasis were the bigger band.
