I'd quite happily see George Clanton's new album - maybe my favourite album of the decade so far - at No. 1. Hah, in a dream world.

Dexys will do a Deacon Blue/Divine Comedy. A perfectly good album though, at least for about 20 minutes.

What's happened with Blur in the US then?

The often overlooked third Damon/Fatboy collaboration, and maybe my favourite. Major, interweaving hooks. For some probably an irritant, but not to me. I can't make out if the guitar is meant to be African (palm-wine?) or Jamaican (mento).

It's aged perfectly, as well as any album could. It's top three Blur for me too, and possibly one of my top ten most listened to albums ever by anyone. It's not even quite perfect - I don't hate Crazy Beat; the basic sound of it, and Fatboy's Kalifornia voice, are fine - it's the yeahyeahyeahyuhYEAH...
