Re: Graham's soundtrack for Netflix series 'I Am Not Okay With This'

Eh, I like a few songs, but it sounds very "dumbed down" to me. Most of the songs sound lazy, slow, repetitive. Definitely does NOT sound like a Coxon album, perhaps that's the point.

I've always wondered about this. Wouldn't the vocals be a separate track, meaning that the only reason it's there is an oversight during editing?
Yea they would be, like I said a bad edit that blended in or something.

Re: Error in Tender

Yea I heard it. Sounds either like a bad edit or Damon messed up. I'm surprised that was left on the final mix.

No Graham was not on Out Of Time that I know of. The only album track was Battery.

Re: Beetlebum: reaction at the time

Yet Think Tank is a fantastic album. That's a matter of opinion. The Graham influence is clearly missing and it suffers for it. Graham would not let a song like Jets be on an album. Out of interest, what makes you think that? I mean, Graham has a long interest in free jazz and plays the sax. It's o...

Re: Beetlebum: reaction at the time

I enjoy the album version but this is much better, Street again would have edited it down to a much tighter better version. I actually think the best thing Orbit ever did was his version of Under The Westway...not a popular opinion, if you don't like it go listen to 1992 again  Street would al...

Re: Beetlebum: reaction at the time

YES! ^ This is what I wanted on the album, but got some mellow lo-fi biz instead. Thanks Orbit  Street would have turned it into a single.

This is my first time seeing it on video, all I had before was a bootleg CD.

Re: Beetlebum: reaction at the time

People dismissing 13 because of its lacklustre nature is the same as Radiohead fans hating on Kid A (and everything that came afterwards) because they wanted more of The Bends. 13 is Blur's finest, most complex and most rewarding achievement. Their discography wouldn't be nearly as exciting if they...

I think if Blur had released "more of the same" in 1997 it could have brought a decline in chart fortunes, esp. given that by the later part of that year Britpop was starting to fade.
In fact I'd say one of the biggest and first bands in Britpop going in another direction helped kill the genre.

Re: Most Oasis sounding Blur song?

The Oasis b-side Underneath The Sky has a great bounce to it like Parklife. That's why it's one of my favorites.
