Re: new Graham gig | Live For Beirut | Jazz Cafe 12 December 2020

Seems stupid. Well, let's just say if it was here in America I wouldn't be anywhere near the gig. Super spreader waiting to happen. UK might be ok but still... The set up seems fine to me, looks from the seating plan like tables only and suitably distanced No worse than being in a restaurant I have...

Re: WigWam Appreciation Thread

I'm still waiting for that Ailerons LP... Honestly, I really hope it gets released. From my understanding the album was almost finished. And I know Dave mentioned in one of his Zoom chats this year that he still hopes it'll be released at some point. The songs were excellent at the gig I went to (C...

Re: WigWam Appreciation Thread

BUMP!

Over 14 years have passed since WigWam came into our lives during the "Dark Years" of no Blur. Wow. Can't believe it's been that long. I remember being excited about any Blur related project at the time but now looking back, wow, atrocious.

Re: Blur - The Magic Whip

Yep, good album. My love for it has been waning as the years have passed by. Unlike the original run of albums. That said, still a good effort and enjoyable. For me it was the experience of the album release that made it so great at the time. MODE, various UK shows, an interview with Dave. Truly wo...

Re: GORILLAZ ALBUMZ RANKED

I want to talk about Momentary Bliss for a second. Could almost be a mid-90's Blur song, minus the rap and the band instead of beats. The melody and general feel is very Britpop in my opinion. I love it.

Re: GORILLAZ ALBUMZ RANKED

Yes. :P In all seriousness though, I get why some people might like it. But BETTER than Demon Days aka Damon's best ever album? No. Well, yes, it is for me. It's not for you. It's called difference of opinion. Ever heard of it? Yet you still question why I don't like Plastic Beach when I said it di...

Re: GORILLAZ ALBUMZ RANKED

There isn't much quality on Plastic Beach. As northernmonkey said a few posts ago: It has a handful of great songs, but I would skip about half of the album and never enjoyed listening to it from start to finish. 100% agree with this statement. As The Dude would say in these occasions: "Yeah, well,...

Re: Gorillaz dream Collaborations

I want more Beck and Gorillaz. One song just isn't enough.

Others:
Smokey Robinson
Ray Davies
Matt Sharp/The Rentals
Paul McCartney
Adele

Re: GORILLAZ ALBUMZ RANKED

Wow people rating Plastic Beach pretty well, I have to say even though I think it's a good album it was a damp squib when compared to the success of the first two albums Since when does success correlate to quality in music? There isn't much quality on Plastic Beach. As northernmonkey said a few po...

Re: GORILLAZ ALBUMZ RANKED

1. demon days 2. strange timez 3. the now now 4. plastic beaxh 5. gorillaz 6. humanz 7. the fall Debut at #5?! Says the guy who put Plastic Beach at #5. ;) Truly overrated, always thought so. A handful of solid songs like Some Kind Of Nature but as a whole, very disappointing. Especially af...
