Re: Dr Dee, underappreciated?

It has its moments, but even as a huge Damon/Blur fan I struggle a little sitting through it all.

Re: "The End of the F***ing World" - full soundtrack album

The first 4 albums are great, some real gems on them, don’t get me wrong I do love what came after from Graham, HIM is a masterpiece. The new album is a grower, I am starting to pick up on other songs with more listens and would be good to hear parts of the album live mixed into his set list. I don’...

Re: "The End of the F***ing World" - full soundtrack album

Any thoughts on the new album yet? Listened to it on the way into work but too early to fully digest it yet. I was hoping for some more in the style of 'She Knows', lots of short tracks given the tracklisting length, certainly some possible gems, 'Vale' sounded like it may be a bit of a grower.

Loving ‘She Knows’, classic Graham, very Blur in sound and those guitars, can’t wait for the album. Loving Graham’s involvement with the soundtrack for this series.

Re: Favorite album for each individual member's input.

Damon - I kind of agree about self titled on this and that his voice takes its natural form. This album see's a more personal style of writing from Damon and obviously I think this is the first signs of other things musically from Damon and the point he (and Blur) distanced themselves from their pee...

Re: time for a blur career spanning best of...

I think Midlife covered the diversity of Blur's career better than the Best Of did, by adding songs that were album tracks. It may have been a bit of an empty cash in considering no new music was released around the 2009 shows, but if I was to try and convince someone that Blur were more than just P...

Re: New release: Live at the BBC

My t-shirt and vinyl arrived Saturday, haven't listened to the vinyl as I have the download too, but nice recordings of the 4 songs, especially 'Trouble in the Message Centre', a little quiet but good to hear the songs sound so fresh as obviously this was pre-parklife release. I was thinking the ban...

Re: TGTBTQ: Merrie Land Live Performances Thread

The slower stripped down version reminds me more of the songs early debut in 2004/2005?? Back then I think it looked like this may be developed into a Blur song as Tender was played by Damon at same charity gig and the so called EP was still being talked about I seem to remember. Never really liked ...

Re: New release: Live at the BBC

Oooohhh nice t-shirts, may have to order one of these and the vinyl, although this purely is for my ever growing pile of merchandise as I haven't owned anything to play one on since the late 80's/early 90's.

Re: Gig: BST Hyde Park, London, 20 Jun 2015

I was there with my wife and daughter 6 at the time. My daughter was on my shoulders the entire gig waving about a homemade Milky Carton (created by me) with Milky on one side and his female version on the other, bloody good effort it was, looking very close to the real one and had a number of other...

Re: Happiness in Magazines turns 15

Still love the album, it is my favourite out of all his albums. Great vocals, amazing guitar and just so damned catchy. I think at the time it also made me realise any future Blur may have, would not the same without Graham. It was more Blur than Think Tank. 😀

Re: TGTBTQ: Merrie Land Album Thread

Yeah it is weird how a song can be tainted by air play, promotion etc Country House isn’t a song I go to often as it feels like it carries baggage from the whole Blur/Oasis thing but when you try and listen to it stripping its history and mental images of the music video, it is a very well crafted s...

Re: Honest question

I always thought he lack of rarities and b sides from the Blur album onwards was due to the fact that they hadn't recorded quite as much material. Still, putting the Blur, 13, Best Of and Think Tank rarities onto one disc is a bit mad. But I'm not complaining. Still a great boxset. The only major q...

Re: BLUR LIVE @ Africa Express: The Circus!

Drunk I'd imagine, maybe a bit out of practice with being back in Blur and all that. Great to see he still classes Blur as an active band, after 2015 my hopes for new material has gone up a bit, but I suspect there may be a bit of a wait :(

Re: BLUR LIVE @ Africa Express: The Circus!

Great surprise, and as always when you least expect this. This is big news, would they re-unite for one small show knowing how it gets the fans/media in a frenzy with rumours? It would be nice to know they had recording time planned this year....😀
