Re: The Great Escape

If only TGE could have sounded more like the punkiness of the Dublin Castle gig of 95, but in saying that we had the self titled 2 years later. I can't be too gready. Wait, there's a recording of Dublin Castle 1995? I don't know if there's a full show as I never heard it. I purchased a bootleg CD a...

Re: The Great Escape

The chorus sound is actually from a Boss BF-2 Flanger. He used a lot of flanger and tremolo(Oily Water intro) on MLIR and Parklife then from TGE onwards he used the Boss VB 2 Vibrato pedal more. The VB 2 is a drier, more wonky, seasick sound. In case you were interested! I know it can be difficult ...

No need for that language, i'm just saying that any bit of blur news will be spoken about on the forum, and rightly so.
Well you're a barrel of laughs. I suggest you act a bit nicer to newer members or just don't reply. There's no seniority for joining date.

Anything blur related will be talked about on this forum, even Ailerons or Fat Les. You don't have to agree with any of it of course but the traction of the tweet and attention it got is something to talk about for good or bad

Dude remove the bug from up your arse.

Re: alex james in trouble!

Who he legally votes for is his business, why is this even a topic? Because he chose to spat his political thinking on twitter which caught a bit of fire, and this is a forum for blur news alex james is a member of blur Then you have to consider Ailerons or Fat Les as blur news and some things are ...

Re: new Gorillaz film - Reject False Icons

I'm surprised it has a cinema release of any kind tbh. Can't see any auditorium outside a Premier being more than around 2/5 full at best. It's at least 10 years too late. Of course for us fans, it's a nice treat... Maybe. The lack of Hewlett makes me utter the phrase.. Oh dear Damon, is this you or...

Re: alex james in trouble!

My interest in ASJ stretches as far as I appreciate his rhythmic bass scales around Graham's guitar. Who he legally votes for is his business, why is this even a topic? As long as he's not Morrissey, we can all sleep easy. I don't even think I'd ever want to be his friend in civilian life, but varie...

Re: New Graham Coxon message board!

If it seemed I suggested they were your views, I'm sorry. Certainly wasn't my intention. Maybe a blanket ban on posting would have been better if you didn't agree though. Cause from the outside, if people still use the forum its kinda a blind eye. Someone I know from FB was particularly upset when s...

Re: The Great Escape

For me it's a snapshot of the time. Wouldn't change a thing, except maybe make the guitars a bit more loose. It sounds too controlled. But that's my opinion now, not 1995. Personally, I prefer the Budokan gig from 95 when listening to TGE era. It seems much more raw and darker. I still can't believe...

Re: Dr Dee, underappreciated?

I dunno... Its OK but its a bit 'Damon the artist' by numbers in many respects. The full soundtrack analysed, follows a lot of chord progressions that Damon had built his drinking well on on post 1999, or as early as the Ravenous soundtrack. The fuller orchestrated sound can always impress above the...

Re: Apprentice (13 album art) to be auctioned

Thank you for the information Foggy. Much appreciated, particularly as it wasn't clear to me tbh. I know it's for charity but if I wanted the print I could just buy it for cheaper on the official store I totally agree. Anyone can donate to charity through various means, without need for reward. I ha...

It's not the actual painting (Apprentice), it's a signed print donated by Mike Smith (I'm going to share some info about this auction on DAU so I asked Mike yesterday).
People are bidding on a print??
