Blur Live albums

Is it just me or is the All the people and Parklive live albums really rubbish quality? I struggle to get into them at all if I'm honest and I love a live album! Live at the Budokan is probably the Blur album I've listened to the most the past few years. The entire performance on Live at the Budokan...

Re: general blur thread

I think it will happen next.. If it doesn't I'll probably give up hope.

Having said that, I would really enjoy another Damon solo album, but I really want Blur to at least tour again. I have never seen the guys live and would make sure and get along to a show at all costs now.

Re: Chemical World sounds

Wow - Check this out!

He uses a few pedals Graham didn't in the original recordings but he also covers the pedals he did use(Notably Boss bf 2 and VB 2).

He also completely nails Graham's parts.

Re: B-Roads

This one here... Not the best quality but a great insight none the less. Starts with Damon strumming a working version of Mellow Song at soundcheck. Damon had just become the laid back, measured character we know him as today it would seem. In contrast to the mockney persona he reportedly portrays i...

Re: B-Roads

Would still love to see this but I am not expecting anything and am done actively seeking out a viewing of it from people because it's kinda unfair on them. I did read the scene by scene description in Black Book and felt quite content at that. I think there are much better documentaries available t...

How did Parklife come to be?

Just wondering if anyone had any knowledge on how Parklife the song was written? Did Damon ever go into it in any interviews at all or anything? Other important songs in the Blur story have been discussed by the band, for example, the fact For Tomorrow was written on a piano at Damon's folk's over C...

Re: Symbols on the Cover Art of Colours

Never seen this before, cool! Seems almost like a mood chart they made for the songs early on in the sessions. I think 'Chicken & Fries' is probably what became 'Don't be'. Given the song starts with Damon repeatedly saying "chicken and, chicken and, chicken and friieess". Not read the particular in...

Re: Return of Vampire Weekend, June 2018

... Hmmm, wasn't too impressed with Harmony Hall. Terribly bland for them and sounds like a watered down re-hash of lyrics from MVOTC. Preferred 2021. Not a brilliant start for me, but still 16 tracks to go and there's certainly a few songs on each album I could survive without...

Re: Return of Vampire Weekend, June 2018

I think Rostam has just as much input on this as he did on previous records. Ezra said recently they both had a conversation at his house about it one day and they both decided that Rostam being a fully fledged member of the band wasn't necessary to his collaboration and input in Vampire Weekend. I ...

Re: Return of Vampire Weekend, June 2018

Ezra announced on Instagram that they are releasing a double album in a few months time, with 2 tracks released each month leading up to it(starting from next week!). Now all that's left to do is pray that it isn't a disappointment... The wait has been long, but so far Ezra and co have been pretty f...

Re: blur official answering questions on answer.sh

Irrespective of the moderate social media presence bulding in recent months from management, I have a strong suspicion the boys may secretly record an album over spring/summer with a release late this year/early 2020. TGTBTQ are doing a very mild tour of a few gigs each month throughout summer and a...
