Re: B-Roads

Will someone just bloody leak this already :p

*Slowly opens can of worms*

In all seriousness, surely as the years go by the repercussions of someone uploading B-Roads to Youtube are becoming less and less.

Don't look back in anger

Anyone read the Daniel Rachel book on 90s cool Britannia? Heard him being interviewed this afternoon on 6 music. As you would expect, Blur feature a lot.

Favorite album for each individual member's input.

Not sure if I worded that correctly. You'll get the gist though... What is everyone's favorite performance for each member over all the Blur albums? Here's mine: Damon - I think his writing is probably the best balance of structured and experimental on Self Titled. 13 is more raw, I get it, but that...

Re: New Blur?

There's just no way to know.. I think if they are going to do something then they will just announce it when it happens, much like they did with TMW. No big build up or anything. They have nothing to prove now, making a bit thing out of it would make it look like they do. Was there any inkling befor...

Re: New release: Live at the BBC

Interesting.. He confirms that Blur activity is purely schedule dependent and it's not a case of anyone in the band objecting to it.

Re: New release: Live at the BBC

I would be sooo down for that. I know Parklife is the definitive, focused masterpiece out of the 2, but I actually find TGE much more intriguing and the one I go back to more.

Parklife is more consistent but I prefer TGE'S best moments over parklife's.

Re: New release: Live at the BBC

All this parklife chat is getting me hot and bothered :P ...

Have those BBC sessions not been released in some capacity before?

Trouble with the fact they were so generous with the 21 box set, is that there’s not really much more to give to celebrate anniversaries as they roll in!

Re: New release: Live at the BBC

It doesn't make Damon a 'snowflake'. He is probably just concerned that celebrating the album's anniversary would be misinterpreted and taken out of context given the current political climate. In all his recent interviews regarding brexit, he has been very vocal about the fact people of opposing po...

I don't think the song choice really mattered.
I beg to differ. The fact Country House has a very singalong, earworm chorus really didn't harm the cause. Maybe because of Roll with it not being particularly strong Stereotypes may have still edged it. It would have affected things though.

Re: Blur and David Bowie

Bowie was pretty elusive most years Gorillaz were active while he was still alive and he was very particular in what he worked on. Having said that, he did collab with Arcade Fire and he always respected Damon so likely the right time and place just never came to be? I personally would have loved to...

Likelihood of a Blur tour soon.

I really am beyond caring if TMW is going to be the last Blur record, we are spoiled for choice on their back catalog, but what does everyone think the likelihood of the boys doing some big gigs/a tour some point soon is? I haven't been able to live it down since passing up the chance to see them in...

Re: Happiness in Magazines turns 15

Ashamed to say I haven't really given Graham's solo stuff much time. Hearing how much of an impact Happiness in Magazines has had on you all, I'll definitely give it a good listen in the coming days.

Re: Blur and David Bowie

A lot of Graham's work on Parklife is very Fripp inspired. The guitar solo in London Loves is almost exactly the same as the solo in Fashion.

You have a case for the guitar on Girls and Boys and It's no game too! Similar two note chords going from major to minor on the 3rd.
