Re: Blur Video Thread
The uploader commented that this footage was shot in Dublin. But I guess that's unlikely because there are no records that Blur performed in Ireland in spring 1997.

Re: Blur Video Thread
Yeah, I guess that the interview was earlier that year. But I'm unsure about the venue of the life footage. The E-Werk is a bigger venue, the live video seems to be from a smaller venue with low ceiling, like a disco. So this footage was maybe shoot during the Beetlebum tour in the UK in January 199...

Re: 1994 US Tour
I remember being pissed off that I read about their US tour in NME and never heard a word about it locally. I wasn't "in the know" I guess. I fully understand you. Blur were below the big public recognition at this time since MLIR just sold about 20.000 issues in the US and had bad promotion...

1994 US Tour
One of the biggest mysteries of Blur's touring history is the 1994 US tour to promote Parklife. After the bad experiences in 1992, they only did a brief, but quite well documented promo tour over there in late 1993. But it's just a little bit known about the short tour in September 1994. The tour sc...

Re: Blur - The Magic Whip
For me it's a decent album but isn't in the same league as the run of albums MLIR to 13. Personally I also prefer Leisure although perhaps that's more subjective. I think those earlier albums benefit from the fact Blur was the main ongoing concern for all members of the band, as opposed to the two ...

Re: Blur Video Thread
Wow, that's super cool! Never knew that this performance exists, especially because it is from the US. At least they tried a bit of promotion for Parklife there in 1994.
Re: B-Roads
I read that B-Roads includes a live and open air performance of Best Days. They played it at the beacshside at an old pier theater. Does anybody know at which town it was?

Re: Blur mix tape nostalgia
Great choice
This would be kind of my personal best of, too. Especially because you picked some of the not so common songs like Bad Day or M.O.R.

Re: All We Want in 13.
Does anybody know where the sessions in the US took place? I could think that St. Louis was recorded more or less 'on the road' with portable equipment. I also think that early versions of the songs from 13 could easily fit in with the ST album and it's b-sides. Mellow Song was perhabs first played ...

Re: Graham in LA ...
My guess is that he is quite unhappy with the current situation in the UK. Sounds a bit silly, but his Twitter comments regarding to Brexit were not that positive. His time in LA seems to be happy. So he is propably working on a lot of new solo stuff, moving to a more 90s Indie sound. Just remember ...

Re: Favorite album for each individual member's input.
Damon - I would say that Modern Life Is Rubbish got his first realy big input. His songwriting changed after Leisure into a more focused, personal way. As you can see in the lyrics of Sunday Sunday, Chemical World or even Miss America, he aimed for more cultural perspective issues. It was his "Brita...
