Other suggested titles for the compilation were "Best Blur Album In The World Ever" and "From Bars To Mars".

The tracklisting and the release time was market-researched by EMI with the help of focus groups. "They all said they'd buy it apart from four blokes in Yorkshire," said Graham.

The album was one of the first Western records released in China.

"For Tomorrow" is the only song from "Modern Life Is Rubbish" that made it to the album.
